2004 Lady Blues Camp
Camp Dates/Age Groups
The camp runs from Sunday, June 6 through Thursday, June 10 and will include
girls in grades 2 through 12.

As one of the most successful coaches in Illinois College history, Head Coach Brenna Kelly has led the Lady Blues to seven conference playoff appearances in her tenure. Under the guidance of Coach Kelly, the IC Women finished first in the Midwest Conference South Division from 1991-1995 and again in 1997. The 1993 Lady Blues captured the MWC Tournament title and took runner-up honors in 1991 and 1997. Know for their shooting accuracy, Coach Kelly=s 1991 and 1994 teams led the NCAA Division III in field goal percentage. For her accomplishments, Kelly was named the IBCA ACoach of the Year@ in 1995 and she was inducted into the Illinois College Athletics Hall of Fame in 1996.
Individual Instruction
Individual skills concepts including; shooting, ball handling, passing, rebounding, free throw shooting, 1 on 1 play, defense, and post moves will be taught. Daily contests in free throw shooting, hot shot, ball handling, quickness, and many other aspects of basketball. Campers will be instructed in appropriate age groups and the player to coach ratio is 10:1.
Team Concepts
Advanced techniques of team offense and defense will be taught. Daily 3 on 3 sessions will be held and there will be a team practice with league coaches. Each day will also include three hours of league games under the tutelage of some of the area=s finest coaches and college players.
What You Need To Know
The camps are located at Illinois College in the new Bruner Fitness Center. Jacksonville is about 30 miles west of Springfield; 90 miles north of St. Louis; 70 miles east of Quincy; and 100 miles south of Peoria. Resident campers will stay in the Illinois College residence halls with supervision of the hall director and the coaches. Quality and quantity describe the food as each meal will be served at the Illinois College dining hall buffet style. Commuter campers also have the option of choosing a meal plan. Any other questions such as different camp plans and fees, daily schedules, insurance and medical care, and what supplies to bring can be answered by Coach Kelly.
