Mission Statement...

The purpose of Instructional Technology is to assist in the integration of technology into the delivery of higher education instruction, staff development, and student awareness. Instructional Technology implements the College’s mission by being committed to the development and welfare of every member of our community: student, faculty, staff, and administration.

Fulfilling Our Mission

Instructional Technology supports the Illinois College community by:

  • Designing and conducting technology training to promote the use of technology in teaching and learning.
  • Developing and conducting technology training for staff to promote the use of technology applications.
  • Developing and conducting workshops for students on the best use of technology to enhance learning and to maximize student efficiency.
  • Consulting and aiding faculty, staff and students with finding appropriate instructional materials, identifying software, and brainstorming solutions utilizing technology.
  • Planning, coordinating, and conducting special topics workshops in the use of technologies for faculty, staff and students.
  • Publicizing and promoting services, resources and activities of the Office of Educational Technology through workshops, seminars, web-based coursework and other means.
  • Providing assistance to faculty, staff and administrators who have instructional technology needs.
  • Creating and coordinating demonstrations of instructional applications of technologies.
  • Following pedagogical reasoning and educational theories to provide assistance, advice and instruction in the creation and use of technological processes.
  • Arranging and scheduling new technologies demonstrations and workshops.
  • Designing and creating and implementing smart classrooms and other such technological initiatives.
  • Evaluating emerging trends in instructional technologies.
