History and Political Science Department Welcomes Visiting Professor
Prof. Gloria-Yvonne Williams joins the History and Political Science Department this fall as Visiting Instructor of History. She replaces Dr. James Davis who is on sabbatical leave. Prof. Williams earned her B.S. from North Carolina Central University and her M.A. from Loyola University. She is currently finishing her dissertation at the University of Illinois at Chicago. She will teach the Civil War course and introductory American History (HIST 101). In addition, she will participate in a special topics course entitled, "The African-American Experience," made possible by a grant from the Tracy Family Foundation and the Jacksonville Partnership for Minority Achievement. This new course will be co-offered by both Illinois College and MacMurray College and has been designed especially for Jacksonville High School minority students. It will also be open to interested I.C. and Mac students. We are pleased to welcome Prof. Williams to the campus and our department.
