We, the members of the Newman Club at Illinois College, are Catholic Christians.
By virtue of our baptism, we seek to be Christ for one another; as well
as a sign of Christ to the people of the Jacksonville area. Indeed, as
members of the Universal Church, we serve as a sign of Christ for the entire
world. We are called to provide a vision and a sense of direction that
will encourage and nurture the faith of our members, and we are called
to spread the Good News of Jesus Christ. Through worship and witness, we
live the Kingdom of God now; we look forward to the kingdom yet to be lived
and we share that vision with everyone we meet. This is our call. Led by
the light of Christ, we seek to come ever closer to God our Father, who
is the source of all life and goodness; our journey of faith is that of
the Church, and we invite all pilgrims to follow the path of life opened
up to them by the spirit of God.
